(Middlebourne, WV) The Renegades of Dirt Modified Tour presented by Arizona Sport Shirts returned to racing action last evening at NAPA AUTO PARTS Wayne County Speedway in Orrville, OH. The trip marks the first of two visits in 2014 to the Jason Flory promoted 3/8th mile dirt oval. Another beautiful day set the stage for the $3000 to win holiday weekend special, the tours tenth event of the season. Thirty four of the nation’s fastest open wheel modifieds were on hand to try their luck in claiming a lucrative Renegade of Dirt Modified Tour victory. Even more impressive a capacity crowd of over three thousand fans turned out to watch the four series’ battle it out on the high banks in tribute to Don Gross and Family.
When on track activities got underway race fans of the Wayne County Speedway witnessed dirt late model hall of famer Rick Aukland blister to a ‘lightning’ fast 19.603 quick time in a brand new Lightning Chassis race car. Taylor Cook would lead group #2 qualifying with a 19.958. Aukland would then draw an invert zero pill for the heat race lineups.
