Ray Cook of Brasstown, North Carolina etched his name in the DART Show Me 100 history book for the second time, as he claimed the 18th edition of the event on Saturday night at Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland, Missouri in front of a capacity crowd in what could only be described as possibly one of the greatest races ever.
Show Me 100 is a $30,000 win 100 lap race that has been run for 18 years. This was the first time American Racer got to participate in the race. It has been a Hoosier only tire rule. American Racer dominated the race. Ray Cook won the race after starting in 11th place. Steve Casebolt started 22nd and passed Cook for the lead on lap 73, but on lap 89, leading by a straightaway, he broke a driveshaft and was out of the race. The other driver in the race on American Racer was Eric Wells. He started 27th and finished 4th. All three drivers drove to the front in dominating fashion. The race will be televised on the SPEED CHANNEL on June 19 at 3:00pm.
